Granite

A very hard natural igneous rock formation of visibly crystalline texture formed essentially of quartz and orthoclase or microcline and used especially for building and monuments

Marble

A metamorphic rock, made of re-crystallized minerals (primarily calcite andolomite (aka mountain ''jade'')). This makes marble a member of the carbonate family, a cousin to limestone and magnesite.

Quartz

Engineered stone surfaces. They combine the best of natural stone with modern manufacturing processes. This results in a surface that's comparable (and often superior) in beauty to granite and marble while offering greater durability.

Granite is a natural stone, there will be natural imperfections., they are natural and are not flaws in the material. Colors and patterns will vary from bundle to bundle, and slab to slab. The surface of granite is not totally smooth – there may be pits or fissures(not cracks). These cannot be polished out, as it is the natural state of the stone.Granite seams are inevitable on some jobs. Seam placement is based on many factors, including, but not limited to slab length, cabinet support, and appliance compatibility. Some seams might be slightly visible and could possibly be felt by hand.
